Yesterday we supplied a job in Wrexham with 40 tons of Type 1 MOT to assist in the laying of hard foundations to go under their block paved driveway.
They needed a good 250mm thick compacted layer of Type 1 MOT as the ground was very soft and therefore needed a healthy layer of certificated hardcore to ensure no voids and no room for manoeuvre.
Today we have supplied them with the Sharp sand they needed to lay a sand bed for the block paviors to sit on. The most popular question asked at this stage is how much sand will i need?? This will depend on the area of the driveway and how thick the bed will be, the trick is usually to allow a maximum 50mm of sharp sand to allow the paviors to settle down as they should.
Once decided on how much sand you are going to use, our calculator can be used to find the quantity required.
They were delighted with the quality of the aggregates supplied and how prompt the deliveries were over the two days.
